Another year at AWS Re:Invent and over 50 AWS Launches, Previews, and Pre-Announcements. What an epic 5-day event and not to forget the conducive connections and all the schmooze about Cloud being the new normal.
However, not everyone could be there and to those of you, among the new announcements from AWS past this week, we are combining some of the newly-launched AWS products and programs to drive new innovations in a in the capacities of:
Cheaper cloud workloads available while migrating to AWS
AWS launched VMs running on Arm-based processors via the new instances. These EC2 instances provide maximum resource efficiency and lower cost.
Analyze Log Data for DevOps
AWS continues to add to the portfolio of the databases. The latest addition to this is Amazon Timestream, a fully managed time series database for collecting, storing, and analyzing log data for DevOps, sensor data for IoT applications and operational applications.
Accelerate machine learning models training time
Demands for data analysis is intensifying to automate the analytical model building and AWS has announced P3dn instances. The new P3dn instances feature 100 Gbps networking throughput, helping customers accelerate machine learning models training time from several days to few hours.
A step ahead to advanced machine learning technique, AWS has launched DeepRacer, a 1/18th scale race car which is the fastest way to get rolling with machine learning and a fun way to get started with reinforcement learning (RL).
Monitor your environments for Security
With the recently launched AWS Security Hub, you now have a unified place and a comprehensive view of your high-priority security alerts and compliance status by aggregating, organizing, and prioritizing your security alerts or findings from multiple AWS and Partner services.
Build and run IoT applications
AWS revealed a collection of services in the capacities of building and running IoT applications.
Ideally suited for manufacturing, food and beverage and energy and utilities, AWS IoT SiteWise is a managed service that collects and organize data from industrial equipment for data analysis.
Another exciting service announced here is AWS IoT Events, fully managed service to detect problems and events from IoT sensors and applications and automatically trigger actions and alerts.
Other service in this space includes AWS IoT Things Graph which virtually connects different devices to services, best suited for energy management, home and industrial automation.
Breaking new grounds with Unconventional Services
AWS is pushing its boundaries continuously by extending its services to the field of robotics and launched AWS RoboMaker. This service makes it easy for the companies to develop, test and manage robotics application as well as build robotics functions using Cloud.
The other service that got attention is AWS Ground Station, a fully managed GSaaS (Ground Station-as-a-Service) that allows customers to download data from satellites into AWS Global Infrastructure regions that can be immediately processed to gain insights.
Operate seamless Hybrid Cloud
This re:Invent AWS introduced an apt service for enterprise data centres, AWS Outpost. It delivers a truly consistent hybrid experience allowing customers to run compute and storage on-premises built with the AWS designed hardware. Customers can also choose to use it as an extension to run VMware Cloud on AWS locally.
